Camden Market is a fascinating place for a photo shoot but I also found it one of the most difficult places to get exactly the shot that I wanted.  For a start the buildings are far more crooked and misshapen than they appear to the casual observer, something that makes balancing a shot really hard.  Having lined up a shot of one building you then realise that the verticals to the left go one way while those to the right head off in another and the window frames of both buildings are irregular in both size and shape so all the usual tricks of composition become hard to implement effectively and the only real solutions are to either crop the s

Three journals in three days, but I think this might be the last one for a while, and this one only has three uploads, mainly because this was a shoot for work and I only upload stuff that I've taken for myself here. The three shots here were taken in between the stuff I was taking to document the day but at least I had time to set the camera up before taking them so there was none of the quick street style photography that I needed to employ on the old tannery shoot.  The other reason that there is only three shots is because I think I've pretty much exhausted the Bishop's Palace and the rear of the Cathedral as locations for shoots having n

Okay, lets start with a note to self, setting a camera to ISO 1600 is fine for the occasional atmospheric shot at a gig but, and here's the important part, don't forget to switch it back to something more sensible afterwards!! When processing them I couldn't help but notice that the Bath pics were more noisy than I would normally have expected and now I know why.  The ironic thing is if the ISO had been lower I'd probably have had more difficulty with the low light shooting but could have compensated with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed rather than incurring the high noise levels form such a high ISO.  Oh well, never mind.
